Biscuit Press Austin

Dan Grissom is the artist and designer behind the Biscuit Press. Originally from rural Louisiana, Dan lives and works in his studio in Austin. He developed his skills as a printmaker by printing work for other artists for many years before changing focus to his own work. Over the years Dan has had multiple solo exhibitions at galleries and universities across the country and also led printmaking workshops with the students at those universities. Dan, his studio mates, Lindsey Verrill and Robert Steel, and dog, Buck, do all in-house printing at Biscuit Press in Austin. Their studio is in the two-car garage attached to Dan's house and it contains a hand-built screen printing press, a 1949 Kluge open face letterpress and a Vandercook Universal I flatbed letterpress from the late 1950s.
